Maintaining stories around the clock (6/11)

The idea of continuous coverage and the 24-hour news cycle was first introduced with the advent of 24-hour television news channels. However as media technology has developed, it has continued to push the desire to speed up production and deliver the news faster. The emphasis on continuous deadlines has challenged the idea that news is a finished product. Instead, news become a matter of “what we know now” it might, and probably will change in an hour.
